Hi Carol, our program is specifically for stray and feral cats. We can’t help with pets. If you’re in the Peterborough area, you might want to see if ARK (in Lakefield) can help you out?

Good morning Operation Catnip. I’ve been feeding 2 cats outside for months and as the cold, wet weather is here, I’m feeling sick to my stomach as I can’t afford to get both cats fixed and de- fleed as I don’t have the money. I’ve already brought 2 in, the last couple of years and the 2 outside, are absolutely loving. Please help us as we would love to bring in the other 2 ( named one Princess and the other, Charlie)

    • Hi Jackie

Sorry for not seeing this message earlier. Are you located in the Peterborough ON area? We don’t spay and neuter animals who are pets. I understand that there is a low cost spay/neuter clinic in Newmarket, if that’s helpful.

I’m afraid we only provide support for feral and abandoned cats. Our service isn’t free, the vets charge us $113 for spay or neuter and we ask caregivers to cover that cost if possible. If you can’t, we ask that you pay what you can. But like I said, we don’t do pets. If the cats are friendly, you could contact Peterborough Humane Society to see if they would take them for adoption.
