VOLUNTEERING

Volunteers Needed!

Operation Catnip is a volunteer organization. We have no paid staff!

Volunteers are needed to assist in many different aspects of the organization. Due to the nature of TNR, duties related to trapping, transporting, and pre/post op care often overlap.

If you can contribute your time in any of the following areas, your effort, no matter how big or small, will help us achieve the goal to reduce the overpopulation of abandoned and feral cats in our community.

Trappers

Colony cats are trapped on the property of their caregiver. No experience is necessary and all training will be provided.

If you are interested, please download our Trapper Requirements.

Drivers/Transporters

Cats are transported from pre-op care to one of our local veterinarians for surgery (generally between 8 and 9 a.m.).

Once the animal has had its surgery and has recovered from the anesthesia, the cat is then transported back to post-operative care.

If you are interested, please download our Driver Requirements.

Pre and Post-Operative Caregivers

Operation Catnip often holds cats overnight prior to surgery. Following surgery, the cat is held for three days for monitoring and recovery.

We need volunteers to help monitor, feed, and give medication to recovering cats. At no time do volunteers handle the cats. All training and supplies will be provided!

Fundraising

We are always looking for help with fundraising initiatives! Auctions and raffle items, community events, yard sales, corporate sponsorships, in-memorium donations, and collaboration with local artists and businesses are all ways that we raise money.

Fundraising is hard work so we’re always looking for creative and community focused ways to cover our care costs!
